Chapter 16 of the Standard details marking, warning signs and reference designations to be place on the electrical equipment.
In general, all enclosures that do not otherwise clearly show that they contain electrical equipment that can give rise to a risk of electric shock shall be marked with the graphical symbol:
The warning sign may be omitted for:
– an enclosure equipped with a supply disconnecting device;
– an operator-machine interface or control station;
– a single device with its own enclosure (for example position sensor).
The above signal may be accompanied by the high-temperature surface signal when necessary.
The Manufacturer shall legibly and durably display the following information on the enclosures receiving the incoming supplies:
– name or trade mark of supplier;
– certification mark or other marking that can be required by local or regional legislation,
when required;
– type designation or model, where applicable;
– serial number where applicable;
– main document number (see IEC 62023) where applicable;
– rated voltage, number of phases and frequency (if AC), and full-load current for each
incoming supply.
